Overview
Tablets should be taken on an empty stomach, at least one hour before eating, for maximum absorption, as food inhibits S-Adenosylmethionine absorption. Denamarin is a cat and small dog medication. Dosage for Pets Based on Their Weight 1 tablet contains 9mg of silybin A+B and 90mg of S-Adenosylmethionine for cats and dogs weighing up to 12 pounds. 1 tablet (up to 55 kg) Denamarin tablet(s) can be disguised in a little mouthful of food for owners who have trouble giving tablets to their pets. Capsules or tablets administered as a "dry swallow" in cats do not always move into the stomach and can become trapped in the esophagus, according to studies. It is recommended that pet owners provide 3-6 cc of water to their pets immediately after giving them a pill to help the tablet travel through the stomach faster. Because of their compact size, Denamarin is great for cats. For convenience of administration, if the pet requires more than one pill per day, the entire amount of tablets can be divided between morning and evening. For example, a daily dosage of three pills might be split into two doses: one in the morning and one in the evening. Denamarin can be used with Marin to increase silybin levels while also providing the advantages of zinc and vitamin E supplementation. Marin and Denamarin should be given 12 hours apart for optimum results when taken together.
