What are the side effects of Topiramate Tablet?
Although topiramate is generally effective and safe when prescribed by a veterinarian, it can cause certain unwanted effects. Sedation is among the most commonly reported side effects, which is usually only temporary. Loss of appetite, vomiting, weight loss, and ataxia are some of the other side effects (stumbling).
What special precautions are there?
If the animal is on valproic acid, phenytoin, lamotrigine, dichlorphenamide, acetazolamide, or amitriptyline, talk to your veterinarian about possible medication interactions. Use this product with caution if the animal is nursing or pregnant. Do not use if the animal's kidney or liver function is compromised. Do not use if the animal has a known allergy or hypersensitivity to this drug. Keep away from animals and children.
