The most common side effects include depression, lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, mydriasis, ataxia, staggering, convulsions, or hypersalivation. A small fraction of treated dogs may experience digestive or neurological effects.
What special precautions are there?
It is important to test your dog for heartworms before starting treatment with Tri-Heart. This medication does not kill adult heartworms, so infected dogs must have treatment to remove any existing adult heartworms and microfilariae.
