What special precautions are there?
Acute renal failure or death may result if administered to cats. This item is not suitable for cats. Never use this product if your dog has a known hypersensitivity to meloxicam. Know the indicators of toxicity and keep an eye out for them. Prior to use, serum biochemical and hematological baselines should be established by proper pharmaceutical testing. Before using, inform a veterinarian about your pet's medical history and current drugs. This medication should only be given to dogs orally. If human consumption happens, seek medical attention right away. This drug should never be given to humans. When using this medication with another, keep a close eye on the drug compatibility. The effects of using this medicine alongside other drugs that may decrease metabolism have not been studied in dogs. In canines, delivering protein-bound medicines at the same time as this medication has not been studied. Consider non-corticosteroid or non-NSAID class medicines for supplementary pain control after using this drug and during transitioning. When you give more than one corticosteroid or NSAID at the same time, your pet is more likely to suffer gastrointestinal perforations and/or ulcers. This medication should not be used with other corticosteroids or NSAIDs. This medicine may exacerbate symptoms if the animal has a pre-existing or underlying condition. This medication has the potential to disrupt normal homeostatic action. If your dog is on a nephrotoxic medication, use this medicine with great caution. Renal toxicity is more likely in dogs that already have renal, cardiovascular, or hepatic impairment, are on concurrent diuretics, or are dehydrated. Use this medicine with caution if your dog has a history of NSAID sensitivity. Individual patient responses vary, so keep an eye on the dog for sensitivity. This medication class has the potential to cause liver, renal, and gastrointestinal damage. This NSAID belongs to the cyclooxygenase inhibiting family of medications. Not proven safe for dogs with bleeding disorders, pregnant dogs, lactating dogs, breeding dogs, and puppies under the age of 6 months. Keep away from children.

How can I store VetOne Meloxidyl (Meloxicam) 1.5 mg/ml Oral Suspension for Dogs?
Keep in a dry environment at room temperature between 68-77° F
Overview
1) Shake well, then remove the bottle cap. 2) For dogs under 30 pounds, use the small syringe. For dogs over 30 pounds, use the large syringe. 3) For dogs under 30 pounds, round your pet's weight to the nearest pound. For dogs over 30 pounds, round your pet's weight to the nearest 5 pounds. 4) Administer directly into your pet's mouth, or combine with food. 5) Tightly replace the bottle cap. Syringes are calibrated for the maintenance dosage; use two syringes on the first day. There are also two sizes of syringes included in the box. Use the appropriate syringe for the size of the animal. The little one, with 1 pound increments, is for animals under 30 pounds. The large one is for animals weighing more than 30 pounds, with 5 pound increments. Give .045 mg per pound once a day after the first day. Start with a .09 mg per lb dosage on the first day to establish the lowest dose. It is usually recommended to monitor the animal's response while using to ensure that the lowest effective dose is used for the shortest period feasible. Weigh the possible benefits and risks with a veterinarian before taking this product.
