Hypothyroidism is caused by a lack of T4 (levothyroxine) and T3 (liothyronine), which results in metabolic illness. Levothyroxine sodium can be used alone to provide comprehensive physiologic thyroid replacement. This drug acts as a layer between levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3) during physiologic deiodination.

Sold as Single Tablets in the following strengths : 0.1 mg, 0.2 mg, 0.3 mg, 0.4 mg, 0.5 mg, 0.6 mg, 0.7 mg, 0.8 mg or 1.0 mg.
What are the side effects of VetOne Thyro-Tabs for Dogs, Single Tablet?
Continue administering this medication if your pet experiences the following common side effects: Drowsiness Dizziness Cough Decreased Appetite Dry Mouth Nausea Vomiting Diarrhea Itching Rash Withdraw treatment and consult a veterinarian if your pet experiences the following less common, but severe side effects: Personality Changes Trouble Sleeping Fever Appetite Changes Weight Changes If your dog shows signs of an allergic response, such as throat closing, hives, swollen lips, swollen face, swollen tongue, or difficulty breathing, withdraw treatment and pursue emergency treatment. Other reactions are also possible. Notify your veterinarian if your pet shows any signs of an unusual side effect.
What special precautions are there?
Keep out of the reach of animals and children. This product is not intended for human consumption. Avoid an overdose of this medicine, which can result in polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia, hyperactivity, poor heat tolerance, or personality changes. Thyro-Tabs should be used with caution in dogs who have issues that may be harmful if their metabolic rate increased, or dogs who have clinically severe heart disease or hypertension.

How can I store VetOne Thyro-Tabs for Dogs, Single Tablet?
Do not allow sun exposure. Keep at a temperature between 59° and 86° Fahrenheit (15° and 30° Celsius).
Overview
Initial daily dose recommendation is 0.1 to 0.2 mg/10 pounds (4.5kg) body weight in a single or divided dosage. T-4 blood levels are monitored and dosage is then adjusted every four weeks until an adequate mainteance dosage is established. For most dogs over 80lbs a daily maintenance dose is 0.1/10lb (4.5kg). A maximum of 0.8 to 1.0 mg. Thyro-Tabs may be given orally or placed in food. Use as prescribed by your veterinarian.
