Overview
To aid digestion, leave at room temperature for 15 -20 minutes before feeding. It is essential to feed your pet on a regular basis (at least 3 times per day). Viokase-V pills should be taken before each meal. Add Viokase-V powder to dry or canned wet dog food to administer. Combine vigorously to ensure that the enzymes are in close touch with the food particles. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. The dose should be adjusted according to the animal's weight and the degree of their pancreatic exocrine insufficiency. If the animal has chronic insufficiency, gradually increase the dosage until significant effects are obtained. A single pill provides enough pancreatic enzymes to digest 64 grams of carbohydrate, 57 grams of protein, and 33 grams of fat in vitro. One teaspoon of pancreatic enzyme powder digests 460 grams of carbohydrate, 388 grams of protein, and 260 grams of fat in vitro. Every meal, give 2 to 3 tablets (or 3/4 to 1 teaspoon) to dogs. With each meal, give 1/2 to 1 tablet or 1/4 to 3/4 teaspoon to cats.
